About Raleigh
We are truly fortunate to live in a city, state, and region that has so much to offer. We live in a city that is among the nation’s best places to live, start a business, raise a family, and earn a world-class education. With the busyness of everday life, we probably take this for granted much too often. A few highlights of our community...

  • Raleigh and the Triangle have received national recognition as being among “the Best Places to Live and Work in the Nation,” “the Best Business Climate,” and “the Best Place for Educational Opportunities in the U.S.,” by Money, Fortune, Bloomberg and Time magazines.
  • Raleigh was recently recognized as a Top 10 Best Places to Live city by AreaVibes.com.
  • We are surrounded by world-class colleges and univerisities. Raleigh and Wake County are the home of North Carolina State University, Shaw University, St. Augustine's College, Meredith College, Peace College, and Wake Technical Community College.
  • Raleigh is home to 115 city parks and 8,499 acres of parks and greenways.
  • Raleigh is North Carolina's capital with a population of almost 350,000. It is also the county seat of Wake County, one of the largest counties in the state.

While it is often easiest to focus on the negative, let us take time to celebrate the positive. And let everyone of us work each day to better our community.
