The Stonehenge HOA now offers more options for residents to renew their annual membership. Residents in the Stonehenge community can join or renew their membership in the Stonehenge Homeowners Association online. Payments will be processed by using PayPal, check draft or with your personal credit card (with or without a PayPal account). You also have the option of enabling the auto-renew option, which will automatically renew your membership each year. This option saves you time, postage and goes a long way to help support the activities of the Stonehenge HOA. To join, simply fill out the online membership form (required of new members and those renewing online for the first time). To renew, simply login and choose the upgrade/renewal option. All memberships run on an annual basis, ending one year from the date of registration. Early renewals will extend your membership by one year without changing your renewal anniversary date.
If you wish to join or renew using the mail-in application form, you must download it and mail it with your payment to our membership coordinator. Already registered online? Sign in now.

The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle:
In 1989 two women, Jill Staton Bullard and Maxine Solomon, watched as good food was thrown into trashcans because "breakfast was over" at a fast food restaurant. They realized that restaurants and grocery stores all over the city were discarding foodstuffs that were close to their expiration time or date, but which were still edible and nutritious. They decided to do something to rescue good food before it was dumped. They founded and incorporated as a North Carolina non-profit in November 1989 and became an IRS recognized 501c3 in 1992. They believed then as we all believe now that good food should be feeding people not filling landfills, particularly when our landfill space is limited and finite.
Every year we are able to rescue more nourishing food. In 1989, we recovered just 750 pounds of food from 3 food donors. In the calendar year 2003, before moving into our new building, we recovered 4.2 million pounds of food from over 220 food donors. We will end 2009 recovering 6.2 million pounds of food and project to recover 6.7 million in 2011.
OUR CREED
We are volunteers of all faiths dedicated to helping people from all walks of life. We will not discriminate in our service nor will we judge the needs of others. We will remember always to treat each person we meet with dignity and with respect, whether donor, recipient, or clients of an agency we are serving. The right of human dignity is a right that must be respected at all times.
I have been volunteering with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle for 3 years now. I participate with the food rescue and distribution part of the Food Shuttle’s mission. I drive a refrigerated truck on Friday mornings and deliver to 6 agencies and pick up food at 5 businesses. On a typical morning we save and distribute approximately 1500 – 2000 lbs of food. I have had great help from Stonehenge neighbors after a request listed on the Yahoo Group. It has been fun to introduce new people to the mission of the Food Shuttle. There are many ways to help. I would advise anyone who is interested to look at the website at http://www.foodshuttle.org. If anyone would like to ride with me on a Friday they would be welcome. Lifting and climbing up and down off the truck is part of the routine but a someone just riding along is fine. The Food Shuttle is a wonderful organization that meets the needs of many people. Hunger is a huge problem in our world, country, state, county, city. We can all help! There is many ways to help.
